Job Description

Parsons is seeking a Deputy Construction Manager – MEP for work involving mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

The role covers MEP standards, inspection procedures, evaluation tools, engineering coordination, and statutory compliance for project facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead MEP system development in compliance with industry standards, codes, and client requirements.
  • Manage MEP activities from project conception through completion, including budgets, schedules, and coordination.
  • Provide technical guidance on MEP design, installation, operation, and complex engineering issues.
  • Review, inspect, and test designs and installations to maintain quality and integrity.
  • Lead and mentor MEP engineers and designers.
  • Coordinate procurement with contractors, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Identify risks and mitigation strategies to support safe, timely, and budget-compliant delivery.
  • Serve as the primary client contact for MEP systems.
  • Maintain compliance with relevant MEP regulations, codes, and standards.
  • Implement emerging technologies, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • 15+ years of MEP engineering experience focused on construction oversight.
  • Mastery of AutoCAD, Revit, and MEP modeling software.
  • MMUP Engineer Registration (UPDA) certification is preferred.
  • PMC experience is preferred.
  • Hospitality or large-project experience is strongly preferred.

Desired Skills

  • Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing system design, installation, and operations.
  • Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and MEP standards.
  • Project management skills covering planning, budgeting, scheduling, and coordination.
  • Problem-solving skills for complex MEP technical issues.
  • ERP knowledge, preferably SAP functional skills, is stated as beneficial.
