Parsons is seeking a Deputy Construction Manager – MEP for work involving mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
The role covers MEP standards, inspection procedures, evaluation tools, engineering coordination, and statutory compliance for project facilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead MEP system development in compliance with industry standards, codes, and client requirements.
- Manage MEP activities from project conception through completion, including budgets, schedules, and coordination.
- Provide technical guidance on MEP design, installation, operation, and complex engineering issues.
- Review, inspect, and test designs and installations to maintain quality and integrity.
- Lead and mentor MEP engineers and designers.
- Coordinate procurement with contractors, vendors, and suppliers.
- Identify risks and mitigation strategies to support safe, timely, and budget-compliant delivery.
- Serve as the primary client contact for MEP systems.
- Maintain compliance with relevant MEP regulations, codes, and standards.
- Implement emerging technologies, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- 15+ years of MEP engineering experience focused on construction oversight.
- Mastery of AutoCAD, Revit, and MEP modeling software.
- MMUP Engineer Registration (UPDA) certification is preferred.
- PMC experience is preferred.
- Hospitality or large-project experience is strongly preferred.
Desired Skills
- Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing system design, installation, and operations.
- Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and MEP standards.
- Project management skills covering planning, budgeting, scheduling, and coordination.
- Problem-solving skills for complex MEP technical issues.
- ERP knowledge, preferably SAP functional skills, is stated as beneficial.
