Role overview
Full-time Dental Nurse role supporting dentists, hygienists, therapists and patients.
The post includes clinical assistance, reception and clerical duties, trainee support and other tasks within the GDC scope of practice.
The role reports to the practice owner, Chief Operating Officer, practice manager and supervising dentist.
Clinical duties
- Prepare and maintain clinical environments and equipment.
- Provide chairside assistance and support patients during dental procedures and emergencies.
- Carry out infection prevention and control procedures.
- Maintain patient records, dental charting, oral tissue assessments and confidentiality.
- Prepare patients and equipment for radiography and process dental radiographs.
- Assist with additional trained procedures including sedation, orthodontics and oral health promotion.
Practice operations
- Assist with reception, appointments, laboratory requests, clerical duties and patient communications.
- Monitor stock and report shortages, equipment failures or breakages.
- Support and supervise trainee dental nurses and provide performance feedback.
