Dental Assistant

Role Overview

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and prepare them for treatment while ensuring their comfort.
• Select and set up instruments, equipment, and supplies.
• Sterilize instruments according to applicable regulations.
• Assist the dentist through four-handed dentistry.
• Provide oral hygiene and postoperative care instructions.
• Keep dental rooms clean and well stocked.
• Schedule appointments and postoperative visits.
• Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures.
• Coordinate other office responsibilities as needed.

Schedule Requirements

• Monday through Thursday: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Background and Qualifications

• At least 3-5+ years of proven dental assistant experience; periodontal or implant office experience is preferred.
• Experience with PMS Eaglesoft is required.
• Spanish-English bilingual ability is required.
• Knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization methods, and health and safety regulations.
• Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks and operate standard office equipment.
• Strong communication, people, organizational, reliability, and attention-to-detail skills.
• High school diploma required.
• Accredited dental assistant program certificate and active state radiology license if required by law.
• Ability to sit and stand for extended periods and maintain clinical positioning.
• Ability to safely assist patients in and out of chairs or treatment areas.
• Ability to work around medical equipment, follow OSHA and infection control standards, perform repetitive hand and wrist movements, and respond quickly in emergencies.
