Role overview
The dental assistant supports dentists and dental hygienists with patient care, treatment-room preparation, chairside assistance, and administrative tasks.
Chairside assistance
- Hand instruments to the dentist, use suction devices to keep mouths dry, and mix dental materials during procedures.
Patient care
- Greet patients, review medical histories, calm nervous individuals, and explain post-procedure care.
Sterilization and safety
- Disinfect operating areas and sterilize tools using strict infection-control protocols.
Clinical tasks
- Take dental X-rays, capture dental impressions, and apply fluoride or sealants as permitted.
Work location
- The work location is in person.
Requirements
