Role Summary
The Defense Engineer - System Operator continuously monitors cybersecurity threats and security incidents across company systems.
The role detects, analyzes, documents, and responds to incidents while maintaining the security and integrity of systems and information.
Security Monitoring and Response
- Monitor and manage EDR, antivirus, SIEM, WAF, firewall, NAC, proxy, and HX security controls.
- Classify security alerts and incidents by severity and impact and take appropriate action.
- Notify system owners, initiate incident response actions, escalate incidents, and document findings and actions.
- Investigate cybersecurity incidents and cyberattacks and analyze relevant events and indicators.
- Document, track, and report incidents according to established procedures.
- Handle user information security service requests.
- Create, develop, and update security use cases for security systems and applications.
