The ideal candidate would have a Diploma in Deafblind services or equivalent, e.g. studies in humanities or community (e.g. Social Work, Gerontology) , and/or three to five years’ experience working with individuals who are deafblind. Formal training in ASL would be an asset. Bilingualism (French/English) as well as LSQ training and alternative communication skills such as Two Hand Manual, Braille would be preferred. A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required for frequent local (as well as occasional out of town) travel with clients.
