Candidate must have a reliable transportation and a clean Driving Record that will need to be provided during the hiring process. Candidate must have lasted more than a year at their previous or current jobs in order to qualify.
Attainment of at least 18 years of age;
Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and decision-making skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including computer skills;
Interest and willingness to work with consumers to meet their needs and choices;
Ability and willingness to be flexible;
Valid California Driver's License, adequate transportation including valid automobile insurance and current registration, and a clean DMV record
Upon offer of employment, complete a Statement of Prior Criminal Conviction, obtain a California Criminal Clearance (Live-Scan Fingerprinting) or a Criminal Record Exemption, obtain and maintain required training (including but not limited to First Aid, CPR, and Pro-Act Training)
Knowledge of the service system for adults with developmental disabilities in the State of California.
An understanding and commitment to the philosophy of normalization, inclusion, positive programming, and consumer-driven services.
Implements curriculum and activity schedules for consumers served; provides training in consumer-specific goals and objectives utilizing individualized training methodologies in domain areas including but not limited to Behavior Management, Independent Living, Pre-Vocational/Vocational Activities, Literacy (mathematics, history, sciences, business, English, arts, etc.) Community Participation, Self Advocacy/Self-Determination, Health and Well Being, use of Public Transportation, Money Management, Personal Care, Medication Administration, etc;
Lesson preparation, teaching subject matter, documenting consumer progress toward goals and objectives, and other relevant information daily, weekly, monthly and annually;
Actively participates in meetings including but not limited to ISP meetings, Quarterly and Semi-Annual reviews, Behavior Management Plan Sessions, Governance Meetings, staff meetings, In-Service Training Sessions, etc.
Maintains and monitors professional relationships with consumers, families, Agency Staff, RCEB, Community Care Licensing, community members and employers;
Implements community based paid and volunteer opportunities for consumers;
