Database Engineer III

Knowledge and Support for a heterogenous database environment including:

PostgreSQL

Oracle Database

Microsoft SQL Server

IBM DB2

Designs, implements, and supports Oracle GoldenGate replication solutions.

Configure and administer GoldenGate environments across Oracle and supported heterogeneous database platforms.

Support real-time and batch-oriented replication solutions.

Design and maintain bidirectional replication architectures.

Monitor replication health, latency, and performance.

Troubleshoot replication failures and data synchronization issues.

Support high availability and disaster recovery replication requirements.

Implement change data capture (CDC) solutions and data integration strategies.

Provides database platform administration within Linux environments.

Install and maintain database platforms on Red Hat Enterprise Linux and related distributions.

Perform operating system level troubleshooting related to database performance and availability.

Support server provisioning, storage configuration, process monitoring, and patching activities.

Collaborate with infrastructure teams to maintain secure and stable Linux environments.

Responsible for maintaining secure access to enterprise database environments.

Manage database users, roles, privileges, and authentication mechanisms.

Implement least-privilege access models and segregation of duties.

Support security audits, compliance reviews, and remediation efforts.

Monitor database access and security controls.

Ensure adherence to enterprise security standards and regulatory requirements.

Develops and maintains automation solutions to improve operational efficiency.

Create and maintain scripts using Shell, Python, PowerShell, SQL, or other automation tools.

Automate provisioning, monitoring, reporting, backup validation, and maintenance activities.

Develop repeatable deployment procedures and Infrastructure-as-Code practices where applicable.

Improve operational consistency through automation and self-service capabilities.

Maintains expertise across emerging database, cloud, search, caching, and replication technologies.

Serves as a subject matter expert for database technologies and platform architecture.

Provides technical guidance to engineers, developers, and project teams.

Contributes to platform standards, operational best practices, and technology roadmaps.

Mentors junior engineers and assists with knowledge transfer initiatives.

Bachelor's Degree and 4+ years of experience in Database Engineering, Database Administration, Platform Engineering, or related field

High School Diploma/GED and 8+ years of experience in Database Engineering, Database Administration, Platform Engineering, or related field
