Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, distributed AI/ML based systems
- Design, development, integration, and testing of AI/ML models
- Advocate high quality and best practices in software design and development
- Close interaction with other team members on system integration and validation
- Perform data analysis, visualization, and modelling with large datasets
- Independently interact with clients, explaining technical concepts to technical and non technical stakeholders
- Perform data acquisition, cleaning, and transformation
- Record and document work
- Meet sprint goals and release deliverables
Requirements
- University undergraduate degree in STEM (Computer/Software/Electrical Engineering, Applied Math, Engineering Physics, Economics, Computer Science, etc.)
- 2+ years of direct experience in design, development, deployment, and verification of AI/ML models in production pipelines
- Experience in a client facing role
- Strong object oriented programming in Python
- Strong communication skills
- Required to meet qualifications to obtain a Canadian Government security clearance (Canadian citizen or permanent resident)

Job Summary
- Full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
- Location: Ottawa Office (up to 3 days per week) or remote if outside National Capital Region.
- Reports to Director of Technology.
- Salary range: CAD 80,000 to 95,000.
About the Role
- Larus is looking for Data Scientists to develop end to end real time solutions for enterprise market.
- Perform leading edge research in AI, ML, and Data Analytics.
- Work on various data science problems while communicating directly with enterprise clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, distributed AI/ML based systems.
- Design, development, integration, and testing of AI/ML models.
- Advocate high quality software design.
- Close interaction with team members.
- Perform data analysis and modelling.
- Interact with clients.
- Perform data acquisition, cleaning, and transformation.
- Record and document work.
- Meet sprint goals and release deliverables.
Qualifications
- University undergraduate degree in STEM.
- Master's or PhD considered an asset.
- 2+ years experience in AI/ML model deployment in production.
- Client facing experience.
- Strong Python OOP.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work in dynamic environment.
- Must meet qualifications for Canadian Government security clearance.
