Data Platforms Adoption Lead

As Data Platforms Adoption Lead in our Data Centre of Excellence, you’ll be at the forefront of our data transformation, working with our business teams across the UK to help them get the most out of our data platforms.

In this major role in a newly formed team, you'll build and support a strong, technically literate business-wide data community, driving the adoption and technical performance of the Azure Synapse and Power BI shared data platforms effectively. At the same time, you'll work with the data community to identify the need, build the business cases and secure investment for new data tools to build that drives value back into our business.

You’ll work with key stakeholders across the business to ensure teams are using the available data platforms effectively. Using your technical expertise, business knowledge and persuasive communication skills, you'll be a data champion, thought leader, coach and mentor, supporting teams across the business to gain real value from our data. This will include recommending best practice, resolving issues, acting as an internal consultant and offering advice, so all our platforms meet their evolving needs.

This role is based in our Tiddington Head Office, just outside Stratford-Upon-Avon. However, we understand how important a positive work-life balance is, so to help you give your best, we offer great facilities when you want to be in an office environment and support to work up to 80% of your hours from home.

You’re passionate about the value of data in transforming business, combining strong technical data knowledge with the ability to persuade and influence people at all levels. As a data champion you have the presence to inspire and excite people with your innovative technical thinking, so they share your data vision. At the same time, you have the commercial knowledge to track costs and build strong business cases for investment. To join our team, you must have:

Experience of driving the optimisation of data platforms such as Azure Synapse and Microsoft Power BI

Experience of data DevOps and Agile delivery

Strong SQL skills

Experience of coaching, mentoring and influencing people at all levels

Strong commercial acumen and an understanding of risk management

Technical skills in one or more of these areas: Azure Synapse, Microsoft Power BI, Data engineering, Data modelling, Data analysis, Data architecture, Data management or Data visualisation.
