Role overview
Kraken builds technology for energy utilities, renewable generation, intelligent grids and customer-focused energy services.
The data platform team works across the customer domain, including customer communications and billions of smart meter readings.
The role supports the expansion of Kraken's data platform, pipelines and data sources.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain data platforms, pipelines and data sources across the customer domain.
- Design, test and deploy data platform and service components using software engineering best practices.
- Scope varied platform problems autonomously and deliver pragmatic solutions.
- Support data processing, modelling, analytics and application workloads for smart energy products.
- Help enable customised energy tariffs and technology supporting the energy transition.
Technical environment
- The primary programming language is Python, with Terraform used for infrastructure definition.
- Kubernetes supports data services and task orchestration, while Argo CD supports application deployments.
- Airflow is used for job scheduling and tracking, and CircleCI is used for continuous deployment.
