Role overview
Ethiq is hiring a Data Platform Engineer to own a Databricks Lakehouse platform.
The role focuses on platform reliability, governance, security, and cost management rather than pipeline building.
Location and work pattern
- The role is based in London and uses a hybrid arrangement with two office days per week.
What you will do
- Provision and operate Databricks workspaces, clusters, and SQL warehouses.
- Own Unity Catalog schemas, row- and column-level security, lineage, and audit.
- Build Terraform modules and CI/CD automation for Databricks.
- Tune Spark, Delta Lake, and Photon to reduce DBU spend without slowing teams down.
- Manage SSO, SCIM, service principals, secrets, and network isolation.
- Support MLflow, model serving, and feature store capabilities for ML and GenAI work.
What you will bring
- At least 3 years of hands-on Databricks administration in production.
- Strong Terraform capability and practical experience building infrastructure modules.
- Understanding of FinOps and cloud cost management.
- Knowledge of SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR.
