About the Role
We are seeking a Data Manager to establish systematic access to large genomic and phenotypic databases, manage data pipelines in cloud computing structures, and coordinate data exchange for a cardiovascular research project.

Responsibilities
- Establish systematic access to large genomic and phenotypic databases (especially UK Biobank and All of Us) and take over their continuous maintenance
- Be responsible for data management and pipeline infrastructure within dedicated cloud computing structures, such as DNAnexus and the All of Us cloud infrastructure
- Structure and harmonize the registry and patient data collected within the framework of the clinical work package (WP4), with a specific emphasis on assisting with the maintenance of the TRUST cohort
- Coordinate data protection compliant data exchange as well as rights management between the postdocs and PhD students of the team, as well as the TRUST group
- Design and implement automated pipelines for quality assurance and AI assisted anomaly detection in heterogeneous clinical datasets
- Establish uniform code standards and version controls to ensure reproducible data processing throughout the entire project
Requirements
- Completed studies in Data Science, (Bio)Informatics, (Bio)Statistics, or a closely related quantitative field
- Technical excellence in Data Science and Data Engineering, demonstrated through an active GitHub profile, peer reviewed publications, or a comparable project portfolio
- Proficiency in PyTorch, combined with hands on experience in developing modern microservice and API based software while adhering to high software quality standards
- Solid experience working with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL), object storage (e.g., MinIO), and version control systems, including CI/CD pipelines with Git and GitLab
- Genuine curiosity about clinical cardiovascular medicine, intrinsic motivation, and a highly results oriented mindset
- Strong intrinsic drive to advance the translation of scientific findings into clinical practice and patient care
- Excellent communication skills in both German and English; ability to act as an effective bridge between technical and clinical partners
