Key skills for this role
Are you an experienced analyst who loves getting beneath the surface of data to understand what it’s really telling you?
We’re looking for a Business Analyst to join our Wastewater Strategy team, playing a key role in turning complex operational and performance data into meaningful insight that helps shape decisions across our wastewater network.
This is much more than simply presenting data or creating dashboards. You’ll work with large and sometimes complex datasets, interrogating and manipulating information to identify trends, uncover potential issues and answer specific business questions. From analysing flooding, blockage and incident performance to exploring regulatory measures and geospatial information, you’ll help us understand not just what is happening, but why.
You’ll take complex analysis and translate it into clear, compelling insight for a range of stakeholders, including senior leaders, helping them understand performance, identify areas of focus and make informed decisions.
Analysing and interrogating large datasets to identify trends, patterns and actionable insights.
Investigating complex business questions and determining the most effective analytical approach.
Exploring data from different perspectives to uncover the story behind the numbers.
Producing meaningful analysis that supports operational and strategic decision-making.
Managing and manipulating data using Excel and other analytical tools.
Working with GIS and geospatial data to develop insights and visualise information.
Responding to a variety of analytical requests from stakeholders across the business.
Presenting findings in a clear and accessible way for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Supporting the continuous improvement of data quality, reporting and analytical methodologies.
