Role Description
The Data Governance Controls Analyst executes day-to-day data governance build, configuration, analysis, and maintenance activities.
The role administers governance tooling, monitors data quality, builds automation, and prepares evidence for data quality controls and audits.
The position works from defined standards and escalates judgment calls rather than owning governance policy.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer the Microsoft Purview data catalog and business glossary and maintain metadata and lineage documentation.
- Build and maintain data quality scorecards, profile and validate data with SQL, and investigate quality issues.
- Develop governance tooling, Purview automation, API integrations, and workflow automations.
- Prepare materials for stakeholder and leadership reporting.
- Maintain control evidence, data quality results, exception logs, processes, configurations, and procedures.
Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in data management, information systems, computer science, analytics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2–5 years of experience in data management, data quality, business intelligence or analytics, or data engineering.
