Data & Financial Analytics Engineer

• Performs financial and operational variance analysis using repeatable queries and consistent calculation logic to identify drivers, outliers, and material movements;
• Supports scenario analysis by structuring inputs, applying assumptions consistently, and translating results into timing, sequencing, and trade-off implications; and
• Contributes to leadership materials by combining quantitative findings with clear executive narrative and visualizations supported by traceable source logic.

• Designs and maintains governed datasets and data models (e.g., dimensional/star schema where appropriate) that integrate financial and operational sources into decision-ready structures;
• Builds and sustains reporting datasets optimized for downstream BI consumption, including standardized metric tables, conformed dimensions, and refresh-ready extracts; and
• Partners with stakeholders to define requirements, resolve source-to-target mapping issues, and improve data readiness and consistency across recurring cycles.

• Establishes and maintains metric definitions, calculation logic, and sources of truth with clear lineage so results remain consistent across time and products;
• Implements data quality controls such as reconciliations, exception reporting, and threshold checks to identify issues before leadership review cycles; and
• Maintains lightweight governance artifacts and change logs so modifications to logic, sources, or refresh routines are transparent, reviewable, and repeatable.

• Automates recurring data preparation and reporting routines using SQL and Python, including parameterization, logging, and basic error handling for operational reliability;
• Improves resilience by designing workflows that adapt to source changes, fiscal-year rollovers, and evolving reporting requirements with minimal rework; and
• Identifies and implements improvements that reduce cycle time and manual touchpoints while strengthening data integrity and reporting confidence.

• Bachelor’s degree in related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
• Relevant experience (typically two years), or an equivalent combination of education and applied experience, supporting analytics, reporting, and data preparation;
• Experience maintaining recurring reports or dashboards, preparing and validating datasets from multiple sources, and communicating trends and drivers to stakeholders;
• SQL experience;
• Demonstrated knowledge of SQL;
• Ability to translate business and finance questions into data requirements, metric definitions, and repeatable analytics outputs with traceable logic;
• Demonstrated ability to prepare multi-source datasets for BI consumption, including joins, transformations, and basic data modeling concepts; and
• Ability to communicate technical results clearly to non-technical stakeholders, and collaborate across finance, operations, and technical teams within deadline-driven governance cycles.

• Master’s degree in related field;
• Microsoft Power BI certification or an equivalent business intelligence credential;
• SQL, data analytics, or data engineering certification that aligns with the tools used in the role;
• Applied financial modeling coursework or credentialing;
• Experience (typically three to five years) in a hybrid analytics engineering and financial analytics role;
• Experience owning reporting reliability, automating recurring workflows, establishing consistent metrics, and supporting scenario analysis for leadership decisions;
• Experience integrating enterprise administrative data sources and supporting forecasting, scenario analysis, and financial impact translation for leadership decisions;
• Ability to use Python to automate data preparation and validation routines, and maintain disciplined change practices; and
• Advanced Power BI capabilities, including data modeling and consistent metric logic across multiple reporting products.
