Job Description
The Government of Alberta is seeking an Intermediate Data Engineer to support the Digital Regulatory Assurance System (DRAS) modernization initiative. The successful candidate will design, develop, and maintain enterprise-scale Azure data platforms, build analytics-ready datasets, and create secure, scalable data pipelines supporting regulatory reporting, compliance monitoring, and business intelligence.
Key Responsibilities
- Design scalable Azure data architecture for cloud and hybrid environments.
- Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using: Azure Databricks Delta Lake Azure Data Factory Azure Synapse Analytics
- Azure Databricks
- Delta Lake
- Azure Data Factory
- Azure Synapse Analytics
- Develop data workflows using Python (PySpark) and SQL.
- Manage Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2.
- Integrate data from ServiceNow, APIs, and geospatial systems.
- Develop semantic models, data marts, and analytics-ready datasets.
- Implement data governance, metadata management, lineage, and security.
