Role Overview

Compensation

• Base pay is listed as $125,500 to $154,000 CAD.
• The posted pay reflects a temporary market premium that is reassessed annually.

Hours

• The stated hours are 37.5.

Customer Responsibilities

• Analyze data and assess complex data-management requirements for platforms or journeys.
• Support data acquisition and ingestion.
• Develop data models, ETL, business rules, lifecycle management, governance, lineage, and metadata solutions.
• Maintain complex data models and ETL jobs.
• Support complex data investigations and stakeholder data interpretation.

Delivery and Governance

• Coordinate with technology teams on delivery, testing, deployment, and release activities.
• Lead data engineering initiatives and organizational governance capabilities.
• Participate as a lead contributor in application design and architecture reviews.
• Capture metadata and lineage in compatible enterprise tools and processes.
• Follow secure coding practices, document risks and decisions, and manage high-risk activities.

Team Responsibilities

• Provide thought leadership and industry knowledge for data engineering best practices.
• Mentor and enable team members through knowledge transfer and engineering practices.
• Guide teams, resolve issues proactively, and build productive stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications

• Degree, postgraduate degree, or technical certificate in Data Management or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Five to seven years of relevant experience.
• Expert knowledge of data engineering frameworks, technologies, tools, processes, patterns, and procedures.
• Ability to perform highly complex technical tasks independently and deliver tested technical solutions.
• Primary subject-matter expertise across multiple areas related to the role.
• Ability to consult across teams on research, analysis, design, and support.
• A graduate degree is desirable.
