Position Summary

  • Seeking an experienced Data Center Presales Consultant specializing in Power and Cooling infrastructure to support business development, solution design, technical sales, and bid management.
  • Requires strong technical expertise in mission critical electrical and mechanical systems, data center infrastructure design, and customer facing presales experience.
  • Collaborate with sales teams, technology partners, consultants, contractors, and end customers for enterprise, colocation, hyperscale, and AI ready data center projects.

Key Responsibilities – Presales & Solution Design

  • Engage with customers to understand business, operational, and technical requirements.
  • Design and develop end to end power and cooling solutions for data centers.
  • Prepare conceptual designs, solution architectures, and technical proposals.
  • Conduct site surveys and infrastructure assessments.
  • Support solution sizing, budgeting, and feasibility studies.
  • Recommend optimal technologies based on customer requirements and industry best practices.

Power Infrastructure

  • Design and recommend UPS systems, BESS, diesel generators, LV/MV electrical distribution, STS, PDU, RPP, busway systems, monitoring and energy management systems.

Cooling Infrastructure

  • Design and recommend precision cooling (CRAC/CRAH), chilled water systems, DX systems, in row cooling, rear door heat exchangers, liquid cooling, CDU systems, containment solutions, high density AI/HPC cooling architectures.

Proposal & Bid Management

  • Prepare technical and commercial solution documentation.
  • Develop BOQ and BOM.
  • Participate in RFP, RFQ, and tender responses.
  • Coordinate with OEM partners for technical compliance and pricing.
  • Conduct technical compliance reviews against customer specifications.
  • Prepare bid clarifications and customer presentations.

Customer Engagement

  • Deliver technical presentations and solution workshops.
  • Support sales teams during customer meetings and negotiations.
  • Act as trusted advisor for data center modernization and expansion projects.
  • Present ROI, TCO, energy efficiency, and sustainability benefits.

Partner & Vendor Management

  • Liaise with OEMs and technology partners for solution validation.
  • Maintain knowledge of latest data center technologies and market trends.
  • Support partner certification and competency programs.

Internal Collaboration

  • Work closely with Sales, Project Delivery, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, and Technology Partners.

Required Technical Skills

  • Power Systems: UPS, generators, switchgear, MV/LV distribution, power monitoring, grounding, energy efficiency, renewable integration.
  • Cooling Systems: precision cooling, chilled water, DX, liquid cooling, AI/HPC cooling, thermal management, CFD awareness.
  • Data Center Standards: Uptime Institute Tier I IV, ASHRAE, The Green Grid, ISO 27001/22301/50001, TIA 942.
  • Tools: Microsoft Visio, AutoCAD, ETAP (preferred), Excel Costing Models, CFD Tools (preferred).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • 6 10 years of experience in data center infrastructure, critical power systems, precision cooling, technical presales, solution architecture.
