Job Summary
The Data Analyst works with Product and Content teams to provide analytical insights for maritime analytics business operations.
The role supports content strategy and organizational reporting through maritime research, vessel tracking analysis, dashboards, and business intelligence.
The work covers shipping, logistics, and maritime security sectors.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Research maritime trends, global shipping patterns, and vessel tracking data for content and industry context.
- Build and maintain interactive Amazon QuickSight dashboards and reports for internal stakeholders.
- Extract, transform, and analyze AIS data, port information, and shipping intelligence.
- Collaborate with content teams on data-driven blog posts, thought leadership content, and marketing materials.
- Monitor and report KPIs related to vessel tracking, maritime compliance, and shipping analytics.
- Create self-service analytics solutions that provide teams with maritime intelligence and shipping insights.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 2-4 years of data analysis experience, preferably in maritime, logistics, or transportation.
- Strong Python, SQL, and advanced Excel experience.
- Experience with data visualization and business intelligence tools, preferably Amazon QuickSight.
- Proficiency in SQL and relational databases, with PostgreSQL preferred.
- Strong research and analytical skills for synthesizing complex maritime and shipping information.
- Experience with statistical analysis, time series data, and geospatial data.
- Proficiency in Python or R for large dataset analysis and manipulation.
- Experience completing end-to-end analytical projects independently.
- Strong written communication skills for translating insights into narratives.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with AWS data services including S3, RDS, and Glue is preferred.
- Knowledge of maritime industry operations, global shipping patterns, and vessel operations is preferred.
