Smithfield Foods is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to support critical programs and strategic initiatives. The role involves assessing, designing, and maintaining cybersecurity systems, conducting risk assessments, developing policies, and implementing security solutions.

Responsibilities
- Conduct cybersecurity risk assessments of industrial control systems (ICS) networks, systems, and components to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies
- Develop and implement cybersecurity policies, procedures, and technical controls to reduce risk and strengthen system resilience
- Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulations such as NIST, ISA/IEC 62443, and IEC 61850
- Design, configure, and implement protective technologies including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDPS), and SIEM platforms
- Conduct penetration testing and vulnerability assessments of ICS environments to identify weaknesses and implement timely remediation
- Provide training and technical guidance to engineers and operators on cybersecurity best practices
- Work with cross functional teams to embed cybersecurity into the design, development, and deployment of new ICS systems and components
- Participate in incident response activities, analyzing and mitigating threats to quickly restore secure and stable operations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four year college or university and 2+ years of relevant experience in OT cybersecurity, or equivalent combination
- Hands on experience with Microsoft Azure and AWS cloud security, including deployment, monitoring, and protection technologies
- Proven expertise in endpoint protection solutions, advanced email threat protection, and forensic investigation/remediation
- Strong background in Windows Active Directory security and administration
- Experience managing Web Application Firewalls (WAF) and implementing network level protections
- Skilled in analyzing and interpreting log data using security analytics tools
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to translate complex security concepts
