Role overview
Lead cybersecurity engineering for EHV and HV substations, including AIS, GIS, HVDC, FACTS, STATCOM, onshore, offshore, and renewable projects.
Report to project and line management while providing technical reporting to the OT Engineering Cybersecurity Leader.
Work with a global, multidisciplinary engineering team on technically challenging renewable energy projects.
Responsibilities
- Conduct OT risk and vulnerability assessments to identify security weaknesses and threats.
- Design and implement firewalls, intrusion detection systems, access controls, and network segmentation.
- Integrate cybersecurity into OT system design, deployment, and maintenance with OT engineers, IT professionals, and management.
- Track emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry practices and recommend security improvements.
- Perform penetration testing and remediate OT security weaknesses.
- Advise internal teams on OT security standards, policies, and procedures.
- Assess the cybersecurity capabilities of third-party vendors and suppliers.
- Deliver security training and awareness programs for OT operators and other OT personnel.
Required qualifications
- Hold a university degree in an engineering discipline, ideally cybersecurity engineering, computer science, information technology, or computer and electronics engineering.
- Have 5-6 years of project security experience, preferably in an OT environment.
- Have 5-6 years of experience in the electrical industry or a similar role.
- Understand ICS, SCADA, OT technologies, OT protocols, and security architectures.
- Have experience with IEC 62443 industrial communication network and system security.
- Hold an IEC 62443 cybersecurity certification at minimum level 1 or 2.
Technical skills
- Knowledge of Modbus, DNP3, IEC 61850, OPC, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, access controls, and network segmentation.
- Knowledge of the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and cybersecurity principles, theories, and techniques.
- Strong problem-solving, root-cause identification, communication, project management, and team coordination skills.

- Work to deadlines with high quality, urgency, and customer value in mind.
- Be flexible with working hours and able to work in a high-pressure environment.
- Demonstrate autonomy and the ability to interact with multiple functions and worldwide teams.
- English speaking and writing skills are preferred.
