Cyber Security Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Conduct OT risk and vulnerability assessments to identify security weaknesses and threats.
• Design and implement firewalls, intrusion detection systems, access controls, and network segmentation.
• Integrate cybersecurity into OT system design, deployment, and maintenance with OT engineers, IT professionals, and management.
• Track emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry practices and recommend security improvements.
• Perform penetration testing and remediate OT security weaknesses.
• Advise internal teams on OT security standards, policies, and procedures.
• Assess the cybersecurity capabilities of third-party vendors and suppliers.
• Deliver security training and awareness programs for OT operators and other OT personnel.

Required qualifications

• Hold a university degree in an engineering discipline, ideally cybersecurity engineering, computer science, information technology, or computer and electronics engineering.
• Have 5-6 years of project security experience, preferably in an OT environment.
• Have 5-6 years of experience in the electrical industry or a similar role.
• Understand ICS, SCADA, OT technologies, OT protocols, and security architectures.
• Have experience with IEC 62443 industrial communication network and system security.
• Hold an IEC 62443 cybersecurity certification at minimum level 1 or 2.

Technical skills

• Knowledge of Modbus, DNP3, IEC 61850, OPC, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, access controls, and network segmentation.
• Knowledge of the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and cybersecurity principles, theories, and techniques.
• Strong problem-solving, root-cause identification, communication, project management, and team coordination skills.
