Cyber Security Associate (Remote)

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Junior Cyber Security Engineer / Cyber Security Associate 1.

We are looking for a Junior Cyber Security Engineer who will assist in preparing and maintaining ATO documentation.

This position will be fully remote within the United States .

This role requires attention to detail, an understanding of cyber security principles, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with federal security standards.

• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of ATO documentation in accordance with federal guidelines.
• Conduct security assessments and audits to ensure compliance with security policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify security requirements and address potential vulnerabilities.
• Develop and implement security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Monitor and respond to security incidents, ensuring timely resolution and documentation.
• Stay updated with the latest security trends, threats, and technologies.

• Bachelors degree and 0-2 years of experieince. (or commensurate experience) A degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field is preferred.
• A degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field is preferred.
• Basic understanding of cyber security principles and practices.
• Familiarity with federal security standards and guidelines, including NIST, FISMA, and FedRAMP.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate and thorough documentation.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or similar are a plus.
