FortisAlberta is seeking a detail‑oriented and customer‑focused Customer Operations Assistant to support our billing, metering, and settlement processes.

In this role, you will work with data, systems, and internal stakeholders to help ensure accurate customer information, efficient operations, and a positive customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support daily operational processes related to Meter Data Management, Billing, and Load Settlement.
  • Perform accurate data entry and validation within SAP, Customer Relationship Management systems, and other internal applications.
  • Process billing adjustments, including cancel and rebill transactions.
  • Run queries and generate reports to support workflow management, analysis, and business decision‑making.
  • Monitor and maintain data accuracy to support billing, settlement, and customer records.
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries, resolving issues or escalating as appropriate.
  • Assist with transaction processing and system updates in accordance with established procedures.
  • Support process improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and data quality.
  • Participate in special projects and provide general operational support as required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma plus a minimum of three years of experience collecting, compiling, and reporting business data in a corporate environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze information, follow procedures, and resolve issues effectively.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a customer‑focused approach.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience working in a regulated industry, preferably within the electrical utility sector, is considered an asset.

Important Information

Full Time temporary position for 18 months.

Monday – Friday schedule.

Hybrid role, with opportunity to work 2 days per week from home.

Based out of our Calgary office location.
