Custodian - Third Shift

SALARY

• $40,000.00 annually plus a shift differential of $4,176.00
• OPENING DATE: 7/21/2025

• DEPARTMENT: Facilities Maintenance
• REPORTS TO: Supervisor, Custodial Services
• PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• 1. Cleans all floor areas in designated work locations, including vacuuming, shampooing, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, waxing, or buffing.
• 2. Dusts, cleans, or polishes furniture and fixtures.
• 3. Checks and replaces necessary lavatory supplies.
• 4. Assists with the moving of furniture, supplies and miscellaneous equipment.
• 5. Collects trash from receptacles through the buildings.
• 6. Cleans and washes glass surfaces, ceilings, and walls.
• 7. Shovels, salts, and/or sands walks, stairs, building entrances as directed.
• 8. Performs other duties as assigned.
• MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Two (2) years previous custodial experience
• Experience in operating machinery related to custodial activities
• Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Ability to work under minimum supervision
• SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION:
• Multiple positions available SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday, 10:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
• 40 Hours per Week
• Half-Hour Lunch Shift differential of $4,176.00
• RETIREMENT: Pension Eligible Any Middlesex College employee hired after September 1, 2011 will have to meet the New Jersey residency law requirement.
