Custodian

Follow routine cleaning and maintenance procedures to maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency of building operations and grounds.

Education/Certification Preferred: High School graduate or equivalent preferred, but not required. Special Knowledge/Skills Required: Good communication and reasoning skills. Experiece Preferred: Knowledge of custodial work or other related areas. Knowledge of minor repairs, electrical, plumbing, carpentry. 1. Report to the Head Custodian/Lead custodian for instruction. 2. Perform cleaning duties. 3. Carryout scheduled housekeeping duties as required. 4. Assist in preparing for school rentals, dances, and other school activites. 5. Make minor repairs to equipment as required. 6. Check all classrooms to ensure that they are secure and windows are closed. 7. Ensure that all doors are secure before leaving. 8. Perform other duties as required for the daily operation of the school. Working conditions: Lifting, carrying, stooping, walking, climbing (stairs, ladders, ramps), balancing, crouching, kneeling, pulling, crawling, working in confined areas, pushing, reaching, repetitive hand motions, visual acuity, noises, vibrating, slippery surfaces, works around moving objects, chemical exposure, uneven surfaces, works with hands in water, works around machinery with moving parts.
