Role Description
The Chief Security Officer is a full-time remote role responsible for defining and leading the organization’s overall security strategy.
The role oversees information security, cybersecurity risk management, and compliance across products, infrastructure, and business operations.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop and update security policies, monitor security posture, and coordinate incident response.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to embed secure-by-design practices.
- Conduct risk assessments, manage security audits, and report threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation plans to executives.
- Build and mentor a security team and lead security awareness initiatives.
- Ensure alignment with relevant regulations and industry standards.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in a senior security leadership role, preferably as a CSO, CISO, or equivalent, in a technology-driven organization.
- Strong skills in information security management, cybersecurity strategy, risk assessment, security governance, policy development, and regulatory compliance.
- Skills in security operations, incident response, threat monitoring, secure architecture, secure coding practices, and vulnerability management.
- Executive-level communication and leadership skills, including presenting security plans and risk insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or CCSP are highly beneficial.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote, distributed environment and coordinate cross-functional initiatives.
