Role Description

The Critical Facilities Manager (part-time, remote) will oversee the reliability, safety, and operational performance of key infrastructure that supports Sir Captain’s charitable activities, such as data, communication, and coordination systems.

This role will plan and manage preventive maintenance schedules, track asset performance, and coordinate with vendors and partners to resolve technical issues.

The manager will develop and implement emergency response procedures, risk mitigation plans, and business continuity strategies for critical operations.

Daily tasks include monitoring systems and infrastructure, reviewing incident reports, optimizing processes, and ensuring compliance with relevant safety and operational standards.

The Critical Facilities Manager will collaborate closely with leadership and field teams to support secure, efficient, and uninterrupted service delivery.

Qualifications

  • Experience managing critical facilities or infrastructure (e.g., data centers, operations hubs, or essential services environments), including preventive maintenance and incident management.
  • Strong skills in risk assessment, emergency preparedness, and business continuity planning for remote and distributed operations.
  • Proficiency with basic facility-management tools, asset tracking systems, and collaboration platforms used in remote work environments.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a focus on reliability and safety.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate with diverse stakeholders, partners, and vendors.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote, part-time setting, manage time and priorities, and meet agreed-upon deadlines.
  • Previous experience in nonprofit, humanitarian, or community-focused organizations is an advantage.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Operations Management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
