Responsibilities:
- Analyzes client financial information, preparation of financial projections identification/mitigation of potential risks, compliance with regulatory requirements and evaluation of collateral in determination of credit worthiness
- Participates in loan structure conversations and completion of loan documentation
- Completes monitoring activities via analysis of clients’ financial performance and collateral evaluation to ensure appropriate requirements are met
- Participates in client meetings to develop a deeper understanding of the client's business, management team, and past and future performance, and reviews completed requests to ensure compliance with policy and procedures
- Understands how credit data is used internally and provided to regulatory partners
- Participates in periodic portfolio reviews
- Reviews work of junior teammates to provide feedback/coaching and ensure compliance with laws, rules, regulations and policy / procedure
- Perform complex financial, credit, collateral, and risk analyses for an assigned portfolio of criticized, classified, and distressed commercial credit relationships.
- Evaluate borrower financial performance, liquidity, cash flow, collateral coverage, repayment capacity, and industry trends to assess credit quality and identify emerging risks.
- Analyze and recommend internal risk ratings consistent with applicable credit policies, standards, and procedures.
- Prepare and present detailed borrower reviews, covenant analyses, portfolio assessments, and credit memos to support decision-making.
- Develop recommendations to support credit resolution strategies, restructuring alternatives, repayment plans, and recovery initiatives.
- Partner with SAG Portfolio Officers to evaluate strategic options and support the execution of resolution plans.
- Serve as a key liaison with Credit Risk, Legal, Operations, and other business partners to support portfolio management and credit resolution efforts
- Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in commercial banking, credit underwriting, portfolio management, workout, restructuring, or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of commercial lending, financial statement analysis, credit risk assessment, and commercial credit structures.
- Experience analyzing commercial borrowers and preparing credit approval, underwriting, or portfolio management materials.
- Desired Qualifications:
- Experience working with criticized, classified, or distressed commercial credit relationships.
- Experience analyzing and recommending restructuring alternatives and credit resolution strategies.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling, scenario analysis, and cash flow forecasting.
- Understanding of commercial banking regulations, credit policies, risk frameworks, and governance requirements.
- Strong relationship management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across multiple business functions.
- Prior experience mentoring junior analysts or providing analytical leadership on complex credit assignments.
