Credit Analyst

GENERAL SUMMARY Perform the analysis of financial statements and tax returns through the use of CASH Insight for Account Officers to use in their recommendations for new and renewal extensions of credit.

Calculate various financial ratios to assist in the ongoing monitoring of borrower compliance to financial covenants per loan agreements and the submission of financial documents.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Prepares financial spreads for the credit analysis and investigation of new and renewal commercial loan requests and provides necessary financial documentation and facts for Underwriters to analyze, evaluate, in their determination of appropriate credit structure and terms for potential borrowers.

Monitors for receipt and analyzes, and evaluates financial documents pertaining to the credit.

This may include financial statements for borrowers, owners and/or guarantors, tax returns, financial spreads, collateral information, covenants, borrowing base, and credit reports to identify strengths and weaknesses related to borrower’s financial condition.

Provides analytical functions related to due diligence and financial statement analysis related to transactions, credit approval, and renewals.

Prepares summary documenting factual analysis and supporting information for credit decision recommendations.

Prepares qualitative analysis, financial spreads and projections for Account Officers.

Identifies covenant violations and material changes in borrower’s performance and escalates to Account Officer.

College degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field preferred, or 2 years related experience in credit or financial analysis.

Intermediate accounting is required or must be completed within 18 months of hire.

Minimum one year (prefers two) of working experience in analyzing financial statements, cash flow analysis, familiarity with various industries, collateral issues and values, loan structuring and analysis of guarantor personal financial statements and tax returns.

Good working knowledge of credit, accounting, credit policy and financial statement analysis.

Good organizational and analytical skills.
