Surrey County Council is seeking a Countryside Capital Programme Officer for its Countryside Access Maintenance and Enforcement Team.

The role delivers infrastructure projects that maintain, enhance, and future-proof the public rights of way network.

Projects may include bridge refurbishments, bridge replacements, path surfacing, and accessibility improvements.

The role combines office-based, site-based, and home working.

Develop and deliver a programme of countryside capital projects from concept through to completion.
Manage contractors and commissioned works to ensure safe, timely, and budget-compliant delivery.
Identify opportunities to improve accessibility and resilience across the public rights of way network.
Prepare funding bids and secure external investment for improvement projects.
Build relationships with internal teams, councillors, landowners, contractors, communities, partner organisations, and other stakeholders.
Help ensure countryside infrastructure remains safe, accessible, and fit for the future.
