Role Description

  • The Counselor is a full time, on site role based at the University of Al Dhaid campus in Al Dhaid.
  • Provides confidential counseling and guidance to students, supporting their academic, personal, and social development.
  • Conducts individual and group counseling sessions, assesses student needs, and develops action plans to address academic, emotional, and behavioral concerns.
  • Collaborates with faculty and staff to design and deliver workshops on topics such as stress management, study skills, career planning, and wellness.
  • Maintains accurate case records, adhering to professional ethical standards, participates in outreach activities, and contributes to university initiatives that promote student well being.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in student counseling, guidance, and mental health support, including experience with individual and group counseling.
  • Strong skills in assessment, case management, and crisis intervention, with the ability to respond appropriately to complex student needs.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills, with the capacity to build trust and maintain professional boundaries.
  • Ability to collaborate with academic and administrative units, contribute to workshops and outreach programs, and support holistic student development.
  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a closely related field; relevant professional licensure or eligibility for licensure is preferred.
  • Familiarity with higher education environments and diverse student populations, ideally within the UAE or regional context.
  • Commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, cultural sensitivity, and inclusive support for students from varied backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
