Cost Manager/Quantity Surveying Consultant

Position overview

Key responsibilities

• Manage cost planning, budgeting, and cost control.
• Prepare and review cost estimates, bills of quantities, and cost plans.
• Monitor expenditure, commitments, variations, and cost performance.
• Review contractor quotations, tenders, and commercial submissions.
• Manage tendering, procurement, and contract administration.
• Review interim payments, valuations, and final accounts.
• Assess variations, claims, and contractual cost implications.
• Monitor budgets and identify cost risks.
• Provide cost and commercial advice to project stakeholders.
• Prepare cost reports, forecasts, and commercial analysis.
• Support value engineering and cost optimization.
• Maintain documentation and contractual compliance.

Requirements and qualifications

• Degree or diploma in quantity surveying, construction economics, cost management, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience as a Cost Manager, Quantity Surveyor, Cost Consultant, or similar.
• Strong knowledge of cost planning, quantity surveying, tendering, contract administration, and cost control.
• Understanding of construction contracts, variations, claims, and final accounts.
• Experience preparing cost estimates, bills of quantities, valuations, and cost reports.
• Strong analytical, commercial, organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Strong consultant, contractor, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with cost management or quantity surveying software is advantageous.
• Construction, engineering, property development, or large-scale project experience is preferred.
• RICS, SISV, or equivalent professional qualifications are advantageous.
• Fluent English is required.
