Job Summary
The Cost Controller is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and controlling food, beverage, and operational costs within the restaurant.
The role ensures accurate inventory management, cost efficiency, proper stock control, and compliance with company policies to maximize profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor daily food and beverage costs.
- Conduct regular inventory and stock audits.
- Verify purchase orders, invoices, and delivery notes.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly cost reports.
- Analyze variances between actual and theoretical food costs.
- Coordinate with kitchen, store, and purchasing departments regarding stock movement.
- Ensure proper recording of wastage, spoilage, and transfers.
- Monitor portion control and recipe costing.
- Review supplier prices and compare quotations.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the system.
- Assist management in budgeting and forecasting.
- Ensure compliance with company financial procedures and internal controls.
- Support month-end closing activities and reporting.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without affecting quality standards.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Hospitality, or related field.
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a Cost Controller in a restaurant or hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of food costing and inventory management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/POS software.
- Good analytical and numerical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with ERP systems and inventory software.
- Knowledge of restaurant operations and kitchen procedures.
- Understanding of UAE VAT regulations is an advantage.
- Pay: Up to AED3,800.00 per month
