Cost Accountant

Role Overview

Responsibilities

• Prepare product and production cost calculations and analyze material, labor, and manufacturing overhead costs.
• Monitor actual costs against budgets and standard costs and prepare monthly cost reports and variance analysis.
• Investigate cost variances and explain findings to management.
• Monitor and reconcile raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods inventory.
• Review material consumption and production costs and assist with physical inventory counts and discrepancy investigations.
• Assist with monthly and year-end closing, budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and cost reduction activities.
• Prepare cost, profitability, financial, and management reports.
• Coordinate with Finance, Production, Procurement, and Warehouse departments.
• Maintain cost accounting records and documentation and support internal and external audits.
• Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required.
• Previous experience in cost accounting, management accounting, or a similar role is required.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory costing, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis is required.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting or ERP systems is required.
• Strong analytical, numerical, communication, and interpersonal skills are required.
• The role requires independent work, deadline management, accuracy, and performance under pressure.
• Manufacturing or industrial environment experience is preferred.

Language Requirements

• Fluent Arabic and English are mandatory.
• The successful candidate must be able to communicate professionally and prepare or read financial documents in both languages.

Work Location

• Work is performed in person.
