Position Summary
Spinneys is seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant with strong SAP experience to join its finance team in Dubai.
The role monitors and analyzes production costs, inventory movements, material variances, wastage, and shrinkage.
The position supports accurate costing, inventory control, and operational decision-making across production and supply chain activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and analyze standard costing, actual costing, and material, labor, and overhead variance reports.
- Monitor stock movements and reconcile physical inventory against SAP system records.
- Investigate production-floor wastage, shrinkage, and yield variances, then recommend corrective actions.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing for COGS, inventory valuation, and WIP.
- Conduct physical stock counts and cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Prepare management reports covering production costs, scrap, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain BOM and routing data in SAP to support accurate cost roll-ups.
- Collaborate with production, warehouse, and procurement teams on material consumption and finished goods output.
- Support manufacturing-cost budgeting and forecasting.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and company policies.
- Implement process improvements to reduce inventory losses and improve cost accuracy.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CMA or equivalent certification is a plus.
- Minimum 3–5 years of cost accounting experience, preferably in food manufacturing, production, or a factory environment.
- Hands-on experience with SAP FI/CO modules is required.
- Experience with inventory movements, stock reconciliation, and wastage or shrinkage analysis.
- Understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and FIFO or weighted-average inventory valuation.
- Familiarity with BOMs, production orders, and SAP material master data.
- Advanced Excel skills are required; reporting or BI tools experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
