About the role
Reports to the Program Manager, Corridor Approvals and Records.
Processes and evaluates utility and permit applications affecting Regional rights-of-way and road operations.
Coordinates traffic safety information for Road Patrols, Dispatch, and public communication channels.
What you'll be doing
- Investigates applications and recommends approval for municipal consents and permits involving utility installations, events, road encroachments, filming, and vehicle loads.
- Conducts technical reviews to verify compliance with Regional standards and operational requirements.
- Reviews utility plans, road designs, and utility cost-sharing estimates and provides comments.
- Liaises with outside agencies regarding transportation operational policies and traffic-related data.
- Prepares written correspondence for internal staff and external agencies.
- Performs other duties aligned with branch and department objectives.
What we're looking for
- Two-year community college diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or an approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least one year of experience in an operational road or traffic activity environment and in municipal and highway road design and drafting.
