About the Role
Zelo is hiring a Core Engineer to build the intelligent backbone of SME finance in Abu Dhabi. You will design and ship backend services in Java, React/TypeScript frontends, event-driven workflows, and AI/LLM capabilities.

Responsibilities
- Design and ship core backend services in Java for credit workflows, document processing, financial ops
- Build React/TypeScript frontends that are fast, reliable, and user friendly
- Develop Zelo Procure full source to pay flow including sourcing, requisitions, POs, supplier onboarding, financing
- Implement event driven workflows and state machines for complex multi step business logic
- Build AI/LLM powered capabilities for document intelligence, classification, extraction, decisioning
- Create pipelines into Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse (Spark) for credit intelligence, analytics, reporting
- Manage schema evolution with Liquibase, hundreds of versioned changesets
- Build UI data through internal data factory framework with proper paging, filtering, aggregation
- Integrate with enterprise systems (SAP Ariba, Oracle Fusion, customer ERP/AP) and third party APIs
Requirements
- 3 6 years as a full stack or backend heavy engineer with Java and React in production
- Exceptional at LLD/HLD ability to zoom from detail to high level architecture
- Experience building or scaling a product from small to large, understanding what breaks along the way
- Comfortable with API design, data modeling, distributed systems
- Fiscalization / e invoicing experience (UAE mandate, ZATCA/Saudi) is a strong plus
- Curious about AI and automation
- Knowledge of the difference between fast, scalable, and maintainable

- Event driven workflows and state machines for gnarly, multi step business logic.
- AI/LLM powered capabilities — document intelligence, classification, extraction, decisioning.
- Pipelines into Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse (Spark) — credit intelligence, analytics, reporting.
- Schema evolution done right — Liquibase, hundreds of versioned changesets.
- UI data through internal data factory framework — paging, filtering, aggregation handled properly.
- Integrations with enterprise systems (SAP Ariba, Oracle Fusion, customer ERP/AP) and third party APIs.
