Special Requirements

• The position(s) require(s) a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired.

Desirable Qualifications

• Radio communications knowledge — Familiarity with public-safety radio systems, VHF/UHF, trunked radio systems, satellite communications, repeaters, and radio interoperability.
• Emergency communications experience — Experience supporting communications during disasters, emergencies, large public events, or incident response.
• Technical troubleshooting — Ability to diagnose communication failures, configure equipment, identify coverage problems, and coordinate repairs or technical support.
• Documentation and reporting — Ability to maintain communications plans, equipment inventories, deployment records, situation reports, and after-action documentation.
• Field deployment experience — Willingness and ability to deploy to disaster areas, potentially on short notice and under difficult conditions.
• Professional judgment under pressure — Ability to make sound decisions when communications infrastructure is degraded and information is incomplete.

Statement of Qualifications

• The SOQ should be no more than two pages, single-spaced in 12-point Arial font.
• Describe your experience working in emergency communications, public safety, government, military or other as it relates to field or response. What roles did you perform, and how did you contribute to maintaining efficient and reliable operations?
• Describe your experience with radio systems, emergency call-taking systems, or other telecommunications technology. What communication methods, frequencies or systems have you used?
