Role Overview

Prepare ingredients and cook food to established recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and preparation checklists.

The role is full time, non-management, and based at the Marriott property in Jeddah.

Kitchen Responsibilities

  • Portion, chop, wash, peel, weigh, measure, and mix ingredients.
  • Prepare and cook food according to recipes and quality standards.
  • Prepare cold foods and serve proper portions.
  • Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
  • Test food for sufficient cooking and monitor food quality.
  • Set up and break down the workstation.
  • Check appliance and food temperatures.
  • Wash and disinfect kitchen areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.

Safety and Team Duties

  • Follow company safety, security, food quality, and sanitation procedures.
  • Report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to a manager.
  • Maintain clean and professional uniform and personal appearance.
  • Protect confidential information and company assets.
  • Communicate professionally and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Support team goals and perform other reasonable duties requested by supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
  • At least one year of related work experience is preferred.
  • No supervisory experience is required.
  • No license or certification is required.

Physical Requirements

  • Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or an entire work shift.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, bend, twist, pull, and stoop.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
