Controls Technician

The Controls Technician is responsible for the installation, wiring, troubleshooting, and commissioning of electrical control panels, machinery, and automation systems.

This position combines hands-on electrical work with basic controls understanding and customer-facing responsibilities.

The role requires 25–50% travel to customer sites for installation, startup support, and problem resolution.

• Install, wire, and terminate electrical control panels and machine wiring.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Install industrial wiring systems, including rigid metal conduit.

• Use meters and test equipment to diagnose and repair electrical circuits and control systems.
• Assist in power-up and commissioning of automation equipment and control panels.
• Provide troubleshooting support for both Apex-built systems and interfaces to equipment provided by others.

• Travel 25–50% to customer sites for installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and technical support.
• Provide clear, professional communication with customers during onsite work.
• Participate in customer training as needed (technical or non-technical).

• Review customer specifications to ensure compliance with electrical and safety requirements.
