Controls Maintenance Technician (Blyth)

As JDR's exciting expansion into Cambois, Blyth continues to gain momentum, we are looking to recruit a Controls Maintenance Technician to join our team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in the startup of JDR’s brand new facility in Cambois, Blyth.

Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader, the Controls Technician will maintain and repair equipment within designated areas to ensure that production priorities are met, and equipment performs to its optimum capacity.

Equipment includes rotating equipment, stranders, extrusion lines, armourers and carousels.

The successful candidate will work to strict safety and quality requirements to ensure that the machinery used to manufacture our product are running to their maximum efficiency and output.

Included will be total preventative maintenance (TPM) and managing breakdowns, along with responding to technical issues affecting production and maintain mechanical services through Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).

Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader, the main responsibilities of the role include:

• Safety First – promotes and adheres to the JDR safety policies and procedures.
• Define, plan, perform and document all maintenance activities utilizing the site CMMS system and other appropriate systems
• Carry out diagnosis of faults, planned maintenance and repairs to all types of plant and equipment in a safe, timely and professional manner and return equipment to operational service
• Estimate length of time required to complete a job and likely consequences of failure to complete work within required timescales
• Identify and escalate any activity that has the potential to cause harm or damage
• Report breakdown root causes, equipment faults and concerns to management
• Assist in the development of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules
• Carry out PPM schedules as necessary and planned work orders as required and provide feedback to develop the system
• Contractor management, supervise external contractors and equipment vendors, reviewing of risk assessments and method statements, completing permits and isolations utilizing site LOTO procedures
• Attend training courses where necessary to ensure personal job skills keep pace with technical developments
• Proactively engage in continuous improvement activities relating to productively and safety
