Design electrical and control systems for custom industrial machinery and automated equipment; develop supporting drawings and schematics in AutoCAD.
Specify electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, motion and controls components, and program/configure PLC-based systems, HMIs, industrial networks, MCC hardware/software and closed-loop servo controls.
Test completed equipment, troubleshoot issues, and make programming, configuration or design modifications as needed.
Lead start-up and commissioning at customer sites, working directly with customers to ensure systems perform as designed.
Partner with mechanical engineering, manufacturing, sales, purchasing and project management throughout design and build.
Collaborate with customers, vendors and contractors to meet technical and performance requirements, and contribute to operation/maintenance documentation.
BS in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
3+ years designing controls or electro-mechanical systems for industrial/manufacturing equipment or capital equipment.
Hands-on PLC programming and HMI development, plus working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and motion control systems.
Experience with Rockwell and/or Siemens platforms (RSLogix/Studio 5000, FactoryTalk, Step7, WinCC, Wonderware InTouch).
Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, with the ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams.
Equipment start-up, commissioning and troubleshooting experience is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills, able to manage multiple projects, and communicate effectively across engineering, manufacturing and customer teams.
