Controls Eng Technician II (Field Service Representative)

Requires basic skills in an analytical or scientific method or operational process

Works within clearly defined standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods and adheres to quality guidelines

Works with close supervision

Performs manual tasks according to established procedures

Supports the engineering design and development of electrical control and automation systems and devices.

Provides setup, configuration, troubleshooting and repair of electrical control systems and prototypes.

Assists with testing of systems, devices, and instruments.

Documents testing procedures, and measures and records performance results following established methods.

Maintains the inventory of supplies and tools used for testing and maintenance.

Conduct diagnostic testing, identify system faults, and provide appropriate remedial actions in the field.

Installs and calibrate various production system platforms to ensure proper functioning.

Engage directly with customers, suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders involved in projects.

Required education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 1-2 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience

Preferred education and experience: Associate's Degree

Discipline/Major: Technical training preferred

Knowledge, skills & abilities: Electronic Equipment Installation. Engineering Support. Laboratory Supply Management. Performance Analysis. Technical Troubleshooting. Testing Result Reporting. Control Systems. Electro-Mechanical Components/Instruments. Test Documentation. Equipment Repairs. Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) Software.

Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.

Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
