Controls and Automation Engineer

Hyperion International Technologies is seeking a junior to mid-level Controls and Automation Engineer who will work with clients and vendors to design the systems and controls that meet the customer’s needs.

The Engineer will have a good understanding of the various technologies available and the ability to recommend the right solution based on the project needs.

The ideal candidate will be collaborative, innovative, persistent and focused on customer service.

Hyperion, an Integrated Water Services (IWS) company, designs and commissions industrial control systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities.

We design and manufacture custom electrical control panels, develop PLC and HMI applications, integrate instrumentation and industrial networks, and provide startup, commissioning, and aftermarket support for the systems we deliver.

• Assist with the design of industrial control systems.
• Develop and modify PLC and HMI programs under the guidance of senior control engineers
• Read electrical schematics, process & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and control system documentation
• Perform electrical I/O verification of control panels prior to shipment and during system commissioning
• Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) of PLC/HMI applications, control panels, and integrated industrial equipment
• Verify proper operation of control systems through testing, troubleshooting, and documentation of results
• Troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, PLC, and HMI issues during startup and service
• Interact with engineers, operators, and customers to support installed control systems
