Role Overview
The client is seeking a General Counsel to provide strategic legal leadership and oversee all legal matters on a contract basis.
Workplace
- The role is remote and can be performed from anywhere.
Compensation
- The payout is $100-$200 per hour.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise executive leadership and board members on corporate governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
- Draft, review, and negotiate vendor, partnership, licensing, and other complex commercial agreements.
- Manage legal risks related to operations, product offerings, and global expansion.
- Oversee intellectual property protection, data privacy, and employment law matters.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Hold a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one state.
- Have at least 10 years of corporate law experience focused on technology, internet, or digital platform industries.
- Bring strong expertise in commercial contract negotiation, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.
- Have advised startups or high-growth companies on venture financing, M&A, and strategic partnerships.
- Be familiar with GDPR, CCPA, data privacy laws, and intellectual property protection strategies.
