Role Overview
The employer is seeking an experienced Container Terminal Manager to lead the safe, efficient, and commercially effective operation of a container terminal.
The role covers vessel operations, yard management, cargo handling, gate operations, equipment utilization, workforce planning, customer service, safety, operational technology, and continuous improvement.
The position is described as fully remote in the United Arab Emirates and full-time.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop terminal operating strategies and lead daily vessel, quay, yard, gate, rail, and cargo-handling activities.
- Manage berth planning, vessel sequencing, crane allocation, yard capacity, container positioning, gate processing, and inland interfaces.
- Plan workforce deployment, shifts, training, competencies, certifications, procedures, and operational standards.
- Coordinate with shipping lines, port authorities, customs, freight forwarders, trucking companies, customers, contractors, suppliers, and service partners.
- Lead safety, regulatory compliance, incident investigations, contingency planning, disruption recovery, and corrective actions.
- Manage terminal systems, equipment-control technology, dashboards, automation initiatives, operational data, KPIs, and improvement programs.
- Manage budgets, labor and equipment costs, capital requirements, capacity planning, modernization, expansion, and senior-management reporting.
