Role Overview

  • A leading multispecialty hospital in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is enhancing its Ophthalmology and Vision Care services and is seeking a skilled Consultant/Specialist Ophthalmologist to join its dedicated eye care team.
  • The role focuses on delivering comprehensive eye care services, including diagnosis, medical management, and surgical treatment of ocular conditions, within a modern clinical environment equipped with advanced ophthalmic diagnostic and surgical technologies.
  • This opportunity is ideal for ophthalmologists looking to practice within a high standard vision care center, offering services such as cataract surgery, glaucoma management, retinal care, and refractive procedures.

Key Responsibilities – Ophthalmology

  • Diagnose and manage eye conditions, including refractive errors, cataracts, glaucoma, retinal disorders, and ocular infections
  • Perform ophthalmic surgical procedures, including cataract surgery and other microsurgical interventions
  • Conduct comprehensive eye examinations, including visual acuity testing, slit lamp examination, and fundoscopic evaluation
  • Interpret and utilise advanced diagnostic tools, such as optical coherence tomography (OCT), visual field testing, and retinal imaging
  • Manage chronic ophthalmic conditions, including glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy
  • Provide pre operative assessment and post operative care for surgical patients
  • Collaborate with optometrists, endocrinologists, neurologists, and other specialists for multidisciplinary care
  • Provide patient education on eye health, vision care, and preventive strategies
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and electronic medical records in compliance with regulatory standards
  • Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and ophthalmology programs
  • Ensure adherence to international ophthalmology guidelines and UAE healthcare regulations

Qualifications & Board Recognition

  • American Board of Ophthalmology
  • UK CCT / FRCOphth / MRCOphth
  • Royal College Certification (Canada)
  • Australian Fellowship
  • Arab Board in Ophthalmology
  • MS / MD / DNB / FCPS Ophthalmology or equivalent recognised specialist qualification
  • Candidates must meet eligibility requirements for DOH / DHA / MOH licensing.
