A leading tertiary-care hospital in Dubai seeks a Consultant/Specialist Acute Internal Medicine Physician to join its Acute Medical Unit. The role involves rapid assessment, diagnosis, and management of acute medical conditions in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
- Provide expert assessment and management of patients with acute medical conditions requiring urgent evaluation and treatment
- Lead care of patients admitted through the Acute Medical Unit (AMU) and medical admission pathways
- Perform comprehensive clinical assessments and formulate evidence based treatment plans
- Manage patients with complex multisystem illnesses including cardiovascular, respiratory, infectious, renal, endocrine, and metabolic conditions
- Rapidly identify deteriorating patients and initiate appropriate escalation of care
- Lead and participate in medical emergency response, resuscitation, and stabilization of critically ill patients
- Conduct daily ward rounds and coordinate multidisciplinary treatment plans
- Interpret laboratory investigations, imaging studies, ECGs, and other diagnostic tests
- Collaborate closely with specialists in cardiology, pulmonology, nephrology, neurology, infectious diseases, endocrinology, and critical care
- Facilitate safe patient discharge planning and continuity of care through coordinated outpatient follow up
- Supervise and mentor junior physicians, residents, and medical trainees
- Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement projects, and evidence based protocol development
Requirements
- Minimum 3+ years post specialist or board certification in Internal Medicine
- Recognized qualification: American Board of Internal Medicine, UK CCT, MRCP/FRCP, Royal College Certification (Canada), Australian Fellowship (FRACP), Arab Board, MD/DNB/FCPS Internal Medicine or equivalent
- Eligibility for DHA/DOH/MOH licensing
- Experience in Acute Medical Unit (AMU), emergency medicine interface, hospitalist service, or acute care setting preferred
- Certification in Advanced Life Support (ALS/ACLS) and BLS preferred

Qualifications & Board Recognition
- American Board of Internal Medicine with subspecialty
- UK CCT in Acute Medicine specialization / Internal Medicine
- MRCP (UK) / FRCP
- Royal College Certification (Canada)
- Australian Fellowship (FRACP)
- Arab Board in Internal Medicine
- MD / DNB / FCPS Internal Medicine or equivalent recognized specialist qualification
- Must meet eligibility requirements for DHA / DOH / MOH licensing
Preferred Experience
- Experience within an Acute Medical Unit (AMU), emergency medicine interface service, hospitalist service, or acute care setting
- Strong exposure to management of high acuity medical admissions and rapid assessment pathways
- Certification in Advanced Life Support (ALS/ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred
- Experience in multidisciplinary acute care environments and patient flow management
