Job Summary
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Consultant Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) Specialist to join a leading healthcare facility in Abu Dhabi.
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive rehabilitation care for patients with physical impairments, musculoskeletal conditions, neurological disorders, and functional limitations, ensuring patient-centered and evidence-based treatment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and manage patients requiring physical medicine and rehabilitation services.
- Develop individualized rehabilitation treatment plans for patients with neurological, musculoskeletal, orthopedic, spinal cord, and chronic pain conditions.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary rehabilitation programs with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, psychologists, and nursing teams.
- Perform rehabilitation procedures such as joint injections, spasticity management, and pain management interventions where applicable.
- Manage inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation cases.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans to optimize functional recovery and quality of life.
- Provide patient and family education regarding rehabilitation goals and long-term care plans.
- Ensure accurate medical documentation and compliance with DOH regulations and hospital policies.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, research, and CME activities.
Qualifications & Requirements
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree recognized by DOH Abu Dhabi.
- Board Certification / Fellowship in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R).
- Valid DOH Consultant License or Eligibility Letter in PM&R.
- Minimum 5–7 years of post-board consultant experience in a reputed rehabilitation or tertiary care hospital.
- Strong expertise in musculoskeletal and neurological rehabilitation.
- Excellent communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in stroke rehabilitation, spinal cord injury rehabilitation, and chronic pain management.
- Exposure to sports rehabilitation and electrodiagnostic studies (EMG/NCS) is an advantage.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary rehabilitation centers.
- Ability to work in a multicultural healthcare environment.
